A sensible budget starts with the total for your group. The official booking guide describes jeep charges on a vehicle basis for one to six passengers. Dividing an eligible group's total can reduce the cost per traveller, but it does not create a separately bookable shared seat.

An afternoon safari on Day 1 is another option when your arrival leaves enough time. Avoid a tight connection between a delayed train and gate reporting; late arrival can jeopardise your booked shift.

Dhela Safari Experience: Forest, Wildlife & Birds

Dhela opened to visitors in December 2014 according to the reserve's zone guide. The guide describes vegetation including Sal, Rohini, Haldu, Bahera and Kusum, and wildlife such as tigers, leopards, Asian elephants and sloth bears.

Let the guide lead the experience: listen for calls, watch tracks and scan the clearings slowly. A distant bird, a grazing animal or a change in forest habitat can be as rewarding as a large-mammal encounter. Bring binoculars if you have them and keep noise low.

Can you see a tiger in Dhela? A sighting is possible, but no zone or shift can guarantee one. Choose by your dates, available permits and travel arrangements rather than a promised sighting percentage.

Dhela Safari Season, Timings & Best Time to Visit

Dhela is listed for year-round day visits. This does not guarantee access every day: heavy rain, unsafe tracks or an administration notice can affect a booked trip. Check the current operation before committing to hotel and transport arrangements.

Morning or afternoon Dhela safari?

Choose the shift that fits your arrival and hotel location. Ask for pickup time, gate reporting time and expected return separately. Exact entry and exit times should come from the issued permit and current park instructions, rather than a fixed schedule copied from an old article.

Check current reserve notices before booking. The notice reviewed on 15 September 2026 specifically addressed Dhela day-visit booking releases for 15–27 October 2026; release dates should not be confused with a general annual season.

Dhela Gate: How to Reach Your Safari

Use Ramnagar as your arrival base and confirm Dhela Gate as the entry point for your Dhela booking. The official zone guide gives an approximate 20 km planning distance from Ramnagar. Your actual route depends on whether you start at the railway station, town centre or a resort.

Dhela and Jhirna are different zones. Both are listed with Dhela Gate, so the gate name alone does not confirm the zone on your permit.

1. Share your travel plan. Give the date, preferred shift, guest count, children's ages, nationality and pickup location. Add your hotel budget if you need a stay.
2. Check Dhela availability. Ask for this zone by name. If an alternative is offered, review the change before agreeing.

4. Provide accurate visitor details. Use the identification required by the booking process. Check names and ages carefully before the booking is completed.

Jeep capacity and children

The official pricing page states a maximum of six individuals and includes a condition concerning two children under 12. The booking guide uses different wording for child permits. Share every child's age and confirm your exact group eligibility before payment. Do not assume six adults plus additional children.

Cancellation and changes

The reserve's published ticket conditions describe tickets as non-transferable and not modifiable, with restrictions on refunds. Read the current terms before paying. Hotel, vehicle and organiser charges can have separate conditions; ask how each is treated if access is cancelled by the park.

Choose a hotel by the complete journey: gate transfer, room facilities, meal timings and checkout. A private resort stay is outside-park accommodation and is different from a forest rest house reservation.
